Robert O'Brien of O'Brien Guitars demonstrates how to repair the finish on a guitar in this video tutorial. The finish on this guitar has chipped away in one area. Robert first uses Hot Stuff Original CA glue to wick in under the finish and secure the parts of the finish that want to flake away. He then uses the Super T medium CA glue and Special T thick CA glue to level the area with the finish. After scraping the hardened CA glue from the surface with a razor blade, he wet sands the area. Finally, Robert applies Meguiar's Clear Plastic Polish and Meguiar's Clear Plastic Cleaner and buffs the area to a gloss that matches the existing finish. In the end, the area is once again smooth and shiny, and the rest of the finish is secure.
